| Bob Thomason, Chief Pilot:
Bob is a native of Charlotte and learned to fly at Charlotte Douglas airport in
1970. He has owned and operated his own airplanes since 1980, accumulating over
6,000 flight hours without an accident. Acting on a long time desire to have his
own aviation business he founded Advantage Aviation in 2002. Advantage Aviation
is primarily an air charter company but also has aircraft management capability.
Bob has his Airline Transport Rating and has flown everything from gliders to
corporate jets. He holds a Masters Degree in Economics from NC State and at various
points in his career has been a banker, consultant and investor. He is married
and has two teenage sons." Our Airplane: Our airplane has the most up-to-date equipment possible including dual Global Positioning System navigation devices, onboard weather radar, satellite weather information downlink, and collision warning equipment. It is approved for flight in known icing conditions. The airplane is maintained to the highest standards to ensure maximum reliability and safety. Some charter companies use their charter aircraft for flight instruction and flying cargo - two types of flying that are particularly hard on airplanes. Not us - our airplane is dedicated solely to the service of our customers. Fly in it and you'll love it! About Safety: According to the National Transportation Safety Board, charter flying was over 3.5 times safer than all general aviation activity in 2005. Charter operators are more closely regulated and supervised than private aviation activities. Your safety is our first priority.
