Chris Anderson 4th year Apprentice with Watson Electrical Construction Co. LLC
(Charlotte Division)competed in the ABC National Craft Championship in Birmingham, Alabama at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Center May 1st and May 2nd, 2013. Chris competed in the Electrical: Residential-Commercial competition and
was one of 16 national competitors. This contest consisted of two days of competition.
The first day of competition, on May 1st, the contestants went through an orientation,
had to take a 100 question test on all 4 years of the Apprenticeship Program,
and performed the conduit bending portion of the competition. On day two, May
2nd, the contestants had to build a project, which consisted of both Residential
and Commercial wiring, and was to be built per written specifications and a plan.
The time limit to complete the project was six hard hours of work. After these two days of intense competition, the awards ceremony was held on the morning of May 3rd. At the awards ceremony, Chris Anderson was awarded the Silver Medal. Congratulations to Chris for his hard work and being the Silver Medal winner.
